Introducing Play Sessions!

The new “With Play Sessions” sharing option makes it super easy to host sessions where groups of players can explore your stories together, giving you a new way to monitor their progress as they explore.

We are taking our first big step into bringing multi-player features to Wunderverse!

With Version 5.9 you now have a fun new way to share your stories with groups of players: Play Sessions!

Host sessions where players can explore your stories together. Track each player’s progress as they go, even letting them chat with each other if you choose.

Three Sessions to Choose From…

When you create a new Play Session, you can configure one of three types of sessions within the Session Features Panel.

Basic Play Session

By default, a Basic Play Session lets you invite up to 40 players. You can see when a player has joined and has begun playing, but no other progress updates or interactions are provided.

This is a great option if you just need to share your story, quick an easy, with a large number of players, but don’t need to follow their progress.

Tapping a member in a session, with Player Tracking enabled, opens up their Player Tracking Panel.

With Player Tracking

Turn on “Player Tracking” when creating a new session and you’ll have a Play Session where you can monitor the individual progress, in detail, of up to 25 players.

See where they are at at any given time, what their health and energy levels are, the missions they’ve accomplished so far, the achievements they have earned, the skills and abilities they have developed, and the objects they possess. You can even see how many moves it has taken for them to get there.

That’s not all. Version 5.9 introduces player Milestones. Like both the Missions and Achievements you already have, Milestones are a new way to quietly mark player progress, using a new Milestone Outcome. Once they reach a Milestone, its flag will light up, and a checkmark will appear next to it in the Player Tracking Panel.

Even more, a Milestone can be set to automatically add a bookmark for players, so that they can return to those points later if they choose.

Players in a session with Player Interaction can tap a new button in their Story Viewer to see and interact with the other players.

With Player Interaction

Turn on “Player Interaction” when creating a new session and you’ll not only have a Play Session where you can monitor the progress, in detail, of up to 12 players, but those players can also see where each other is at in the story, and can chat with one another as well.

Players will see a new button added to their Story Viewer that they can tap to see which players are currently exploring the story and where and when they were last seen.

Tapping a player’s name opens the chat view where players can send each other text messages.

Easier Than Ever to Invite Players

With Play Sessions, you send out a single URL via email or text to all the players you want to invite to a session. The message will contain the URL and details they need to join in.

Members will start appearing in the Session Players list as they join. And if the session provides player tracking, just tap their names to start monitoring their progress!

Just the Beginning

Play Sessions sets the foundation for how we will be providing more multi-player features down the road. Until then, we think you’ll find them a great new way to share and get players involved in your stories now!

And as always, let us know what you think. We love your feedback.
